Marcel discovered the lascaux cave in september 8, 1946. It was at countryside around french village. The painting had been sealed in lascaux cave for at least 17,000 years ago. The cave walls are covered with more than 1,500 pictures of animals. Many of the animals include those that the early people of Lascaux hunted. Historians believe that the people told stories about the animals and sang as the artists painted them. But these oral stories are lost forever. Paleolithic Age ( The Stone Age )The culture period of the stone age. It marked by the earliest use of tools made of chipped stone. It began about 2.5 to 2 million years ago. Why do we call this time of history the stone age?. During this time humans used stone to make tools and stone was used many times as part of the actual tool. The first stone tools were used to meet people three basic needs of food, shelter, and clothing. The Stone Age ended at different times and different parts of the word generally around 10,000 years ago in Europe and the middle east. Comparing and ContrastingWhen I read about the lascaux cave and explored it (click here to explore the lascaux cave). I recognized the painting that are in lascaux cave are similar to the Paleolithic age (I did the paleolithic age for my cave art class assignment, and I learned a lot about it as it showed). When I did my assignment about the paleolithic age I draw a picture that is the same one in lascaux cave. I don't know if that is true, but I think that paleolithic age is the group that was painting in lascaux cave about 17,000 years ago, and it is the same group that left over more than 1,500 pictures of
